Foot Structure
Each foot is composed of 26 bones, over 20 muscles, and more than 100 ligaments.

Our Arches

There are 3 arches in the foot:

  • Medial Arch: Extends from the heel to the first metatarsal bone.
  • Lateral Arch: Extends from the heel to the fifth metatarsal bone.
  • Transverse Arch: Extends across the first to fifth metatarsal bones.

The centre point of the medial arch is located at the navicular bone.

Functions of Foot Arches
During walking, the interaction of the three-foot arches help absorbing shock and propelling the body forward.
